This innate intelligence in your body defends against the foreign invaders that cause colds and the flu. This specialized army of immune response cells identifies and attacks germs like virus’ and bacteria. Running around your body finding foreign invaders, attacking and digesting them takes the right kind of fuel, proper rest, strengthening, and medical care that all soldiers must have to be optimal fighters. One pioneering study, “Enhancement of in vitro interleukin-2 production in normal subjects following a single spinal manipulative treatment” clearly demonstrated an increase in IL-2 levels and also in the function of T-cells, which are key players in the immune system’s army of cells, following chiropractic adjustment. The authors concluded that a chiropractic adjustment can influence the biological immune response.
