Neck and Upper Back Exercises to Support Comfort, Mobility, and Posture

Your neck and upper back do a lot of work every day, like holding up your head and helping you turn your body. Even breathing is facilitated by your neck and upper back.

Staying upright through long hours at a computer, doing physical work, or just sitting down to eat takes work. And work creates tension and stress. Especially when ergonomics are not optimal.

We often recommend these exercises to help reduce tension, restore mobility, and support a healthier posture.

Before you begin, make sure these exercises are appropriate for your specific symptoms.

Neck and upper back discomfort can have many different causes, and two people with similar pain may need very different approaches.

If you’re unsure which exercises are right for you, we strongly recommend having your pain evaluated by a professional.

If you’d like guidance, we’re happy to help you in person here in our Aptos office. Book online and come see us.
